Great Minds Being Locked Out

Image
"BEING ALONE IS BETTER THAN BEING SURROUNDED BY WRONG PEOPLE" Once in our life, We have had come across individuals who are left out, Don't have many friends, are Made fun of, and for being "strange/abnormal". Do we ever give them a chance to express their thoughts or to even understand them? No, I don't think so because we fear that by being with them other's will think negatively of us. And this is a very common case among teenagers nowadays.  In the 21st century, Being young is extremely difficult. Not that we lack great minds, But we clearly lack great hearts and personalities. It is not easy being a HUMAN-BEING in a fake world where everyone is trying to be everyone else.  We live in an ever-growing community where change is appreciated but being realistic and natural is often downgraded. Society want's us to do what they want. This world is becoming a humongous jail where, If you are satisfactory in others' eyes, you are most likely to be ...

Empathy

Image
"EMPATHY IS ABOUT FINDING ECHOS OF ANOTHER PERSON IN YOURSELF"            Empathy has no script. There is no right or wrong way to do it. It is simply slipping into the shoes of another person, aiming to understand their feelings and perspectives and to use that understanding to guide our actions. Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest acts of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.  Nothing is more important than empathy for another human being's suffering. Nothing, Not a career, not wealth, not intelligence, and certainly not status. One of the most important things you can do on this earth is to let people know that they are not alone. It is the lack of empathy that makes it very easy for us to plunge into wars, It is the lack of empathy that allows us to ignore the homeless on the streets. Empathy is a gift we share with others, But it's a ...

Why are Teenagers/Adolescents afraid to open up about their mental health?

Image
"YOU DON'T HAVE TO STRUGGLE IN SILENCE"           As an adolescent myself, I have always felt and have seen personally that communicating about mental health is considered shameful in Indian Society. Individuals with mental illness want nothing but to be understood but only seldom do individuals stand up to correct the ligature that Mental health is not being sad, self-conscious, sad songs, or dark rooms, it is much more than that. The main reason why a sole doesn't communicate about their disturbing inner world is that they are considered "weird" and therefore, They get left out. Mental illness is like making jokes so others feel the joy you're unable to, It's giving motivational speeches to others when you feel totally lost in the world, It's going to work and fulfilling all your obligations but falling apart when you come home, It's being the life of the party when you feel empty inside.  It takes alot of courage to open up about mental h...

Role of Youth for Climate Action

Image
" THE YOUTH IS THE HOPE OF OUR FUTURE''  Youth is the most important and dynamic segment of the population in any country. It is believed that developing countries with large youth populations could see tremendous growth, provided they invest in young people’s education, health and protect and guarantee their rights. We can undoubtedly say that today’s young are tomorrow’s innovators, creators, builders, and leaders. Any individual between the age of 15 and 30 comes under the category of youth, regardless of gender. The youth are the backbone of a society and hence they determine the future of any given society. This is because all other age groups, the kids, teenagers, middle-aged, and senior citizens rely on the youth and expect a lot from them. This makes the youth to be an important age group in both today’s society and the future society than other age groups. Therefore, due to the high dependence on youth in society, we the youth have a role to play because the futur...

Cultivating the grass of our minds; Gen-z

Image
"MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT A DESTINATION, BUT A PROCESS. IT'S ABOUT HOW YOU DRIVE, NOT WHERE YOU'RE GOING"  Gen-Z is improving in technology and with the brains but it clearly lacks in maintaining is it's  mental health. Between 20% -- 30% of adolescents report symptoms of depression. While depression once was considered an ''adult'' affliction, our generation has changed this statement completely where the mean age of one today is 14 . Almost 9% of high school students have attempted suicide in the past year.  Isn't this alarming? Mental illness is becoming increasingly common among teenagers globally. Recent studies indicate that approximately one in five teens between ages 11 to 18 suffer from mental illness.  The consequences of not addressing mental health conditions extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health thus limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as an adult because childhood is the foundation of our life. ...
